FredRidley,thechairmanofAugustaNationalGolfClub,announcedinFebruarythatNiemannandNicolaiHojgaardwouldreceivespecialexemptionstocompeteinthe2025Masters,whichbeginsApril10.
“InsupportofAugustaNational’seffortstodevelopinterestingolfglobally,deservinginternationalplayersnototherwisequalifiedhavebeeninvitedthroughouttheTournament’shistory,”Ridleysaidinarelease.“ThetraditioncontinuesaswewelcomeNicolaiandJoaquinbacktotheMasters,asbothplayershaveshowcasedtheirtalentwhilecompetingaroundtheworld.WelookforwardtotheirarrivalthisApril.”
Lastyear,HojgaardfinishedT-16inhisdebutatAugustaNationalandmomentarilyheldtheleadduringthethirdround.Hojgaard’stwinbrother,Rasmus,willmakehisdebutthisspring,anditwillbethefirsttimeinMastershistorytwinswillcompeteinthesametournament.
