TheleadingLIVGolfplayernotalreadyexemptfromthetopfiveintheindividualseasonstandingsthroughthetour’stournamentinCarrollton,Texas,onJune27-29willearnaspotinthe153rdOpenChampionshipatRoyalPortrushinNorthernIrelandonJuly17-20.
“TheOpenisaglobalchampionshipforthebestmen’sgolfersandeachyearwereviewourexemptionstoensurethatweofferpathwaysintothechampionshipbasedonresultsachievedontheleadingprofessionaltours,”MarkDarbon,CEOofTheR&A,saidinastatement.
“WeacknowledgethatplayerscompetinginLIVGolfshouldalsohavetheopportunitytosecureplacesinTheOpenthroughitsindividualseasonstandingsaswellasexistingpathways.”
